You may or may not know that we’re a major sponsor of this great event called the Triple Crown of Yo Yo. When our friends Steve and Seth set out to create the most awesome yo yo contest in the land, they knew they’d need an excellent trophy and they turned to us for help in creating a vinyl figure that would serve not only as a trophy, but also as a designer toy available for fans.
Designed by Chris Ryniak and sculpted by Scott Wetterschneider at Shinbone Creative, the Triple Crown Monster is produced by Squibbles Ink + Rotofugi and stands seven inches tall and eight inches wide (clear the shelves!).
The first painted release will be available this Saturday, July 28 at the Yo Yo Experttable during the Triple Crown of Yo Yo held at Millennium Park here in Chicago. The Triple Crown is free and open to the public so stop by Millennium Park between 10am and 4pm to check out the awesome world-class yo yo play and maybe pick up a monster!
An edition of just 50 pieces, they will be available during the contest for $100 each, plus tax. A few pieces will also be reserved for the World Yo Yo Contest held in August in Orlando…and any remaining pieces will be sold by Triple Crown of Yo Yo, so keep your eye on their news page for updates.
We’ll also have a table at the Triple Crown event in Chicago where we will be selling the Unpainted Orange Triple Crown Monster for $80 each, plus tax. Any leftovers will be made available via our online store on Monday, July 30.
Finally, join us at the store on Saturday, 6-8pm, for the official Triple Crown of Yo Yo After Party! There will be snacks and sodas for all plus lots of awesome yo yo play by some of the best in the nation, most likely followed by a trip across the street to Delilah’s for those old enough to enjoy adult beverages!
